DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURE (1st – 12th)
Please read the following information carefully regarding dropping off and picking up students from school. PLEASE NOTE: THE JEFFERSON PARISH SHERIFF‘S OFFICE HAS INSTALLED A “ONE–WAY SIGN” AT KENT & GLENDALE. Between the hours of 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 and 3:15 p.m., Glendale Street will be one-way flowing from Haring Road to Kent Street. This will allow your children to exit and enter your car on the school sidewalk instead of the street. PARKING IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE LEFT LANE IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AT ANY TIME. In order to assure the students‘ safety, the elementary teachers will not allow any child to go to a car by himself/herself unless the car is in the pick–up lane on the right side of the street by the sidewalk. If you do not wish to wait in this line, please park in the parking lot across from the school and walk over to pick up your child. Please do not stop in the middle of the street to pick up your child. A line is usually established and you must get in line to pick up your child. If you are the parent of a student who is not dismissed until 3:05 p.m., please do not come early and park in front of the school.
SPECIAL NOTE: DUE TO INSURANCE AND SAFETY REGULATIONS, NO PARENTS (PRESCHOOL THROUGH 12TH GRADE) WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARK OR DROP OFF THEIR CHILDREN IN THE SCHOOLYARD.
When coming up Haring Road from Kewanee, please use extreme caution as preschool parents are dropping off students in the circular driveway. You can find a map that will help to explain this procedure HERE. CLICK HERE TO SEE MAP!
As noted above, we must stress that NO PARENTS will be allowed to drive into the schoolyard to park or to drop off their children before or after school.
We appreciate your cooperation.
